JOEC
and Time Warner Cable River Village Project
During the fall of 2005, Time Warner Cable partnered
with JOEC to construct 5 straw bale cabins for its River Village.
Over 150 volunteers from TWC contributed over 1,000 hours of labor to
complete the River Village.
The rustic straw
bale construction of the village makes it ideal for the challenging teen
programming that JOEC offers in the summer to campers, ages 12-16.
The village is also a perfect staging area for the "Trail of Tears"
living history drama offered to area school children as a part of the
Outdoor Education Program.
