Family Camps
Camp Joy
partners with organizations and hospitals to
help children and their families manage a medical condition/illness
through summer camp and family camp experiences. Some of the
benefits of these camps include:
Patient Self-Care: Enhances the self-care and
self-sufficiency of children/families managing a chronic
illness/condition.
Education: Educates children/families about the illness
in a non-medical setting.
Relationship Building: Provides an opportunity for
children/families to learn and bond with others managing a similar
condition.
Respite: Provides a time of relief for family members.
Self-awareness: Builds self-esteem and enhances goal-setting
and problem-solving skills.
Fun!: Provides wholesome outdoor recreation, creative, arts and
adventure education.

with neuromuscular diseases by providing an unforgettable week at MDA
